Obamacare is almost here! In about three weeks, Covered California– California’s state-based health care exchange- will open its virtual doors for business.  Hundreds of thousands of individuals are estimated to be eligible for coverage, with many expected to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase guaranteed issue health insurance in the opening weeks.  While we at Quotebroker have spent that last few months keeping you updates on the progress of the exchange, why you may or may not want to participate, and many of the details of the upcoming new health plans, we thought it would be helpful to many to take a step back and review the basics of health care reform.  Watch below for a quick summary of where we are and how we got to this point in health care reform, courtesy of the Kaiser Family Foundation and their “YouToons.”
