Covered California Announces Contracts with Insurance Carriers August 7, 2013

CoveredCA, California’s state-based health exchange, today announced that 12 carriers have signed their contracts to participate in the upcoming service year, starting January 1, 2014.  Those carriers include:

  • Alameda Alliance for Health
  • Anthem Blue Cross of California
  • Blue Shield of California
  • Chinese Community Health Plan
  • Contra Costa Health Plan
  • Health Net
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • L.A. Care Health Plan
  • Molina Healthcare
  • Sharp Health Plan
  • Valley Health Plan
  • Western Health Advantage

Additionally, the following carriers will be providing coverage for the small group health exchange, also known as SHOP:

 

  • Blue Shield of California
  • Chinese Community Health Plan
  • Health Net
  • Kaiser Permanente
  • Sharp Health Plan
  • Western Health Advantage

A 13th carrier, Ventura County Health Care Plan, decided to delay their decision for a year in order to better evaluate their position and focus on a bid for 2015’s exchange.
